Overview
Join us to float and fish the beautiful Upper Rogue River in pursuit of migratory steelhead and salmon. This legendary southern Oregon river offers opportunities to fish from the comfort of the drift boat as well as beautiful sections of river well suited to wading and swinging flies. Our typical day on the Upper Rogue covers approximately 10 miles of river and 7-8 hours of fishing time.
What to expect
We will prepare and pack a simple river lunch for the days float. Please feel free to bring any auxiliary snacks and drinks you care to enjoy as we will save room in the cooler for those items.
Meals
Your guide will meet you at your accommodations early morning and then commute 15 to 30 minutes to the selected boat launch for the days float. The drift boats we use on the Upper Rogue can accommodate two anglers per boat. Fishing gear including rods, reels, flies, waders and boots can be provided but feel free to bring personal gear if applicable. We are happy to discuss gear details!

Most often we employ catch and release angling practices. If the situation presents itself to harvest a hatchery steelhead we are prepared to do so and will clean and process the fish for you. If you hope to keep your catch plan to have a cooler on hand for post trip transport.

While fly fishing is a focal point for our fishing program, especially on the Lower Deschutes River, we are well versed in fishing conventional gear/ tackle. We want the fishing to be as enjoyable as possible and fishing with a spinning rod for steelhead and salmon can be lot of fun. It all comes down to personal preference. Just let us know ahead of time what gear you prefer.
